PRLog -- Chris Wilson, hometown Flint native, and NFL standout will be hosting his 3rd annual CSW Faith Foundation High School Combine on Saturday, June 15, 2013. This event, which will be held from 10am – 2pm at Atwood Stadium, has become the "place to be" for 9th-12th grade student area hopefuls. The camp will serve as a platform to help student athletes earn scholarships. Each participant will be measured, weighed, and tested in the 40 yard dash, vertical jump, broad jump, shuttle, and 225/185 lbs bench press similar to the official NFL Combine. When asked why he decided to host the camp, Chris Wilson said, “I consider myself a very blessed diamond in the rough. That being said, I want to sift through the inner cities and create more opportunities as well as equip students with physical, mental, and spiritual tools to succeed.” This event is FREE for all participants that stay and participate for the entire duration of the camp. To help with the advancement and post camp success of the student participants, all information will be distributed to colleges across the nation well as posted on the www.cswfaithfoundation.org website for exposure purposes. According to Wilson, "We are excited to create more opportunities for our youth to earn scholarships. P+P=S (Performance + Platform = Success)." This year the camp will also have a special appearance by NFL star, Lorenzo Alexander, who has enlisted and added to the lineup to speak about life skills and inspire the youth. The camp holds a special place in his heart, for he says, “I believe providing opportunities for student athletes to showcase their talent and learn from people who have been where they want to go is vital not only for them to increase their chances of playing football at the next levl, but, receiving a free education. My hope for the participants is simply to help provide the platform for life long success, thus improving their communities.”
As an additional bonus,Tim Hortons Cafe & Bake Shop will provide beverages while Jimmy John's will provide sandwiches to all camp attendees.
