USB Sensors And Devices Can Now Be Controlled By LabVIEW

FOUNTAIN HILLS, Ariz. - June 6, 2013 - PRLog -- USB is the recognized standard for sensors, controllers and other devices. LabVIEW is a powerful programming environment used by thousands of engineers.  However, LabVIEW does not really support USB. FlexAble Systems' LabLinkUSB VI package interfaces USB microcontrollers [MCUs] to LabVIEW through the Human Interface Device [HID] built-in to all versions of Windows. Using HID eliminates the need for Microsoft device certification -- saving costs and complexity.

LabLinkUSB VIs adds forty-one LabVIEW VIs to support all Silicon Laboratories USB MCUs.  However, only three VIs are normally required: Super OPEN establishes a connection between the PC and the USB device; Super REPORT sends and receives data and control information using simple tables or clusters; and, Super CLOSE terminates the connection.  

This methodology simplifies the USB interactions and lets you concentrate on the details of your LabVIEW program.
