Follow on Google News | Northeast Chamber, Mission Northeast present "Parade with a Purpose"The Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce and Mission Northeast are working together to collect nonperishable food items and financial contributions as part of “Parade with a Purpose: A Food Drive for Northeast Minneapolis Food Shelves.”
By: Minneapolis Regional Chamber of Commerce “The Chamber is excited that Mission Northeast brought this fantastic idea to us. This food drive in collaboration with the Celebrate Northeast Parade will make a great and meaningful addition to this community-wide event,” said Christine Levens, president of the Northeast Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce. This event marks the first community-wide food drive in Northeast Minneapolis, and businesses throughout the Northeast community are joining the collection efforts by offering donation bins at their location. These businesses include: Eastside Food Co-Op, 2551 Central Ave. NE Tom’s Style and Tanning, 938 Lowry Ave. NE Central Avenue Liquor, 2538 Central Ave. NE Liberty Tax, 2406 Central Ave. NE Sen Yai Sen Lek, 2422 Central Ave. NE Collection at participating businesses will run from June 10- June 21. Members of Mission Northeast churches will also be collecting items along the parade route during the Celebrate Northeast Parade on June 18.
