Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake Announced Fantasia and legendary Patti LaBelle to Perform at 2013 AAF

BALTIMORE - June 5, 2013 - PRLog -- On Monday, June 3, 2013  Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake was joined by festival producer Shelonda Stokes, President and CEO of greiBO Entertainment  to announce the performers, experiences, and activities for the 2013 African American Festival. The festival will take place at M&T Bank Stadium on Saturday, July 6, 2013 from 12:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and Sunday, July 7, 2013, 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Mayor Rawlings-Blake announced the continued partnership with Radio One Inc. Radio-One will host the Stone Soul Picnic Stage where the festival’s headline recording artists will perform. This year’s festival will include musical performances by American Idol winner Fantasia on Saturday, July 6 and the legendary R&B sensation Patti LaBelle on Sunday, July 7.  All additional performances will be released on the festivals website,

In addition to the exciting festival entertainment, Mayor Rawlings-Blake announced the new festival experiences which will be housed in air-conditioned tents. The Health and Wellness Pavilion presented by Kaiser Permanente, will include health screenings, fitness demonstrations, and nutrition seminars with celebrity chefs.  The Black Enterprise Empowerment Tent will host wealth creation seminars and exhibits. STEM Nation presented by Morgan State University will feature interactive demonstrations and exhibits highlighting Science, Technology, Engineering and Math and the Beauty Bar presented by Ambi and ORS will provide women and men with beauty and grooming demonstrations, beauty product samples, tips and beauty techniques.

The festival is celebrating the Ultimate Family Reunion on Saturday with Visit Baltimore and Fraternities and Sororities are taking over on Sunday with Greek Day and the Step Like You Mean It Step Show. For those 21 and over, Barefoot Wine will present “Wine Down”, highlighting their most popular wine choices.  Additionally, the activities we love about the African American Festival, including the amazing foods, emerging artists musical performances, wonderful artwork, colorful and creative fashions and the Get Movin’ Complex presented By Choo Smith will take place again this year.
