Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel Seeking Citizens’ Assistance in Locating Cary Historic Photos

The Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel are seeking citizens' assistance in locating old historic photos of Cary for research on a photographic history book.

CARY, N.C. - June 4, 2013 - PRLog -- CARY, NC – The Friends of the Page-Walker Hotel, a local nonprofit organization whose mission includes historic preservation, history education and cultural advocacy, are seeking citizens’ assistance in locating old historic photos of Cary.

The Friends are conducting research for a photographic history book and are specifically trying to obtain photographs that will help tell our community’s story. These include, but are not limited to, images that depict Cary’s history in the areas of education, transportation, community celebrations, local landmarks (past and present), and others.

The organization stresses that they are not asking for donations, but rather looking for pictures to scan into the computer that potentially may be used in the book.  Even if the photos are not published, they will become part of the Friends’ documentation of Cary’s history.

Citizens who are in possession of photos they would like to share are asked to contact info@friendsofpagewalker.org or the Page-Walker Arts & History Center at (919) 460-4963. The pictures can either be scanned by a Friends board member at the citizen’s preferred location, or by appointment at the Page-Walker Arts & History Center. If published, the book will credit the source for each image used.
