Flagstaff High School Student Writes His Way to a Scholarship from Jiffy Lube

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- The “What Drives You?” scholarship program, funded by Flagstaff area Jiffy Lube franchise group, Lubricar, will award a $1,000 scholarship award to a Coconino High School student for the 2012-2013 school year.  

Jordan Garcia is the scholarship essay winner and will receive a $1,000 scholarship award on behalf of Jiffy Lube.  

The “What Drives You?” scholarship program is open to all teen drivers as well as students enrolled in Drivers Ed in Flagstaff area high schools.

Students are asked to submit a 500-word essay detailing what drives them now, as an opportunity to express their inner drive and ambitions.  

Jordan’s winning essay discussed his drive is to become a successful businessman.  His dedication to better himself and his passion for higher learning and to further his leadership skills is why he was chosen as the overall award winner.

The scholarship is open to all students regardless of test scores or grades.  Finalists are selected throughout the school year by a Scholarship Review Committee.

Scholarship money will go directly towards secondary education, in the form of college or other qualified technical or professional program chosen by each winning student.
