The 2013 Take Your Dog To Work Day® Photo Contest Opens June 1

KING, N.C. - June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- The 2013 Take Your Dog To Work Day® (TYDTWDay®) photo contest launched on Saturday, June 1. Event creator Pet Sitters International (PSI) encourages pet owners to upload photos of their dogs at work to the TYDTWDay website, www.takeyourdog.com, for a chance to win $500 cash and a $500 donation to the animal shelter or pet-rescue organization of the winner’s choice.

To be eligible, photos must be uploaded between June 1, 2013 and July 31, 2013. Entrants will receive a custom e-mail that can be forwarded to friends, family and co-workers to share their photos and ask for votes. The five photos with the highest number of online votes will be finalists for the 2013 photo contest, and PSI will select the winning photo.

Nearly 500 photos were submitted for last year’s TYDTWDay photo contest. PSI anticipates an even greater number of photo entries this year.

“The photo contest is one of the most anticipated elements of Take Your Dog To Work Day each year,” said PSI President Patti Moran. “The photo contest not only gives pet owners an opportunity to show off their dogs but also a chance to win a monetary prize for themselves and a local animal-rescue group.”

Created by PSI in 1999, TYDTWDay takes place annually the Friday following Father’s Day to celebrate the great companions dogs make and promote their adoptions from local animal shelters, humane societies and pet-rescue groups. The 2013 event will be celebrated on Friday, June 21.
