Mandy Chardoul Joins Legacy Trust as Director of Family Office Services

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - June 3, 2013 - PRLog -- Grand Rapids, Michigan, June 3, 2013 – Mandy Hales Chardoul has joined Legacy Trust as director of Family Office Services.

In her new role with Legacy Trust, Chardoul will have primary management responsibilities for the Family Office Service platform, which currently provides services to the firm’s anchor family office client.  Specifically, she will provide thought leadership in estate and income tax planning strategies for current and new family office clients, including:

·       Income tax compliance

·       Personal cash flow planning

·       Management of outside business interests, including private equity holdings and real estate

·       Charitable giving strategies

·       Risk management and insurance

·       Family education

She will work closely with Mike Julien, formerly the vice president for investments of taxes at Meijer, Inc. who joined Legacy in 2012 to lead the Family Office Services division.

Prior to joining Legacy Trust, Chardoul spent nine years at Plante Moran, PLLC, one of the nation’s largest accounting and business advisory firms with more than $9 billion in assets under management through Plante Moran Wealth Management. While a senior tax manager of the estate planning practice, Chardoul managed estate plans for high net worth clients, with an emphasis on tax planning, charitable giving, trust development and management, transfer of assets and related issues.

Entrepreneurial in spirit, Chardoul also has worked with several software and Internet-based companies, including Amazon.com, Singingfish and Onyx Software, all based in or near the Seattle, Wash. area.

A certified public accountant, Chardoul also holds her certified financial planner, or CFP® designation.  She holds a bachelor of arts from Colorado College in Colorado Springs, where she majored in world political economy, and a master of science in taxation from Grand Valley State University.

Active professionally, Chardoul speaks and writes regularly on estate and tax planning issues.  She serves as vice president for the West Michigan Estate Planning Council and on the professional advisory committee of the Grand Rapids Community Foundation.

A native of Chicago, Chardoul now resides in Rockford with her husband, Christian, and their daughter, Caroline.
