NEW YORK - June 2, 2013 - PRLog -- On Saturday, June 15, 2103 the Black and Latino Filmmaker's Coalition hosts "Learn to Write Screenplays Part 1 with Anthony Calyspo."

The 4 hour workshop teaches attendees how to properly format screenplays, how to build a great screenplay, how to defeat writers block and how to complete a screenplay in record time.

Workshop topics include: Fundamentals and Scripts Elements; Storytelling and Screenplay Writing; Character Development and Dialogue; and Preparing the First Draft.

Workshop instructor Anthony Calyspo is a fiction, non-fiction writer and filmmaker from Nyack currently living in Brooklyn, NY. He is credited with being a researcher on El cantante (Nuyorican Productions) and The Manchurian Candidate (Paramount). Anthony has published work in Essence, Black Issues Book Review, Black Enterprise, Kestrel, The Caribbean Writer, and the anthology The Butterfly’s Way. He is currently an instructor with the New School.

This workshop is specifically designed for those who are finding trouble getting started or completing their scripts.

Workshop location is provided upon registration. Space is limited.
Workshop hours are from 10am-2pm.  Workshop preregistration is $40 (deadline June 7). On site registration will be $65.
