MORENO VALLEY, Calif. - May 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Despite a background of violence and poverty, author Linda Hayes climbed her way to success.  A respected business director with a family she cherished, she appeared to have it all.  But deep within, Hayes felt undeserving and fearful.  The Voice Hidden Within Me chronicles her voyage to discover the roots of these false beliefs and ultimately transform her life.

“I didn’t realize that I had buried secrets from my past and kept people from getting too close,” said Hayes.  “My journey to find the reason for these fears yielded the discovery of my forgotten childhood voice.  Only by embracing my past have I finally found the freedom to change these negative beliefs to positive ones.”

The Voice Hidden Within Me reveals Hayes’ intimate life journey.  The child of immigrants, she grew up in the United States and the Philippines.  At different times, she found herself living from the opulence of a wealthy estate to the despair of a friend’s garage.  Her parents were aloof, her husband an abusive alcoholic.  At one point, she was a single mother of five existing on welfare.

Throughout her life, Hayes held fast to her faith in God and love of family, but a hidden voice continually propelled her off course.  Only by changing this voice and opening her heart to others was she able to experience healing and transformation.  Hayes credits both traditional counseling and alternative medicine with inner emotional healing practices for this ongoing process.

Hayes hopes to connect with those who have survived the ravages of poverty, family violence and addictions, and limiting inner fears by sharing her keen insight and wisdom.   With this self-help book, readers will find that everyone has the potential for limitless power to overcome adversity.  “If you’ve lost your faith in God or forgotten your purpose in life, this book will surely strengthen you,” said Hayes.

According to the National Intimate Partner and Sex Violence Survey (2010), 4.7 million men and women experience domestic violence in the USA.  Eight-five percent are women.   The highest rate occurs in individuals between 18 - 34 years old.  With daughters of her own in this age group, Hayes feels a strong bond to help break the cycle of violence for these women.  The 2010 US Census reports that 15.1% Americans live below the poverty level; 40.7% are single mothers.
