Trax Bar & Grill, 36 Cal. 4th 224 (2005), a bar proprietor stands in a special relationship with its patrons and invitees, and hence owes a duty to undertake “reasonable steps to secure common areas against criminal acts of third parties that are likely to occur in the absence of such precautionary measures.” Gabriel Sanchez, associate attorney at Wilson Harvey Browndorf LLP, works on the legal team supervised by Marc Lazo, Managing Partner of Litigation, as the incident occurred in his hometown, and resulted in the death of a man he called his friend. “Our lawsuit has added the San Joaquin Sheriff’s Department.
