ALLENTOWN, Pa. - May 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Allentown, PA – Bridgeway Academy of Catasaqua announced today that there are more ways to celebrate the successful graduation of students than merely pomp and circumstance.  This year’s commencement includes a water-park extravaganza to precede the official ceremony.

Julie Bartholomeaux, Director of School Counseling for Bridgeway and coordinator of the event commented, “We have approximately 125 students eligible for graduation.  Bridgeway is excited to be offering a ceremony that goes above and beyond the ordinary for our exceptional students.”

In 2012, Bridgeway’s graduating student statistics boasted a phenomenal success story for the accredited academy.  The average GPA was 3.94; 86 percent of those graduating moved on to attend college and 100 percent of those applying to a university were accepted to their first school of choice.

Bridgeway Academy is accredited by both AdvancED and the National Association of Private Schools (NAPS), whose members must meet or exceed national public education standards.  Bridgeway students rank far above national public school averages.

The commencement festivities will begin on Friday, May 31st, with water park activities and team building exercises for the graduates, and includes a barbeque for students, families, and Bridgeway faculty.  “It’s a wonderful way to connect a final time before departing, and taking that next step into adulthood or collegiate academics,” said Bartholomeaux.

The official graduation ceremony is to be held the following day, June 1st, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Howertown Road in Catasauqua, PA, and will be led by Bridgeway’s salutatorian Bethany Wilhelm with an overall GPA of 4.45, and the class valedictorian David McAnally of Smithville, AZ, with an overall GPA of 4.52.   Said David McAnally of his experience with the growing Academy, "I am very glad that Bridgeway allowed me to homeschool and still receive a report card and official transcripts. This made the college application process much easier and allowed me to get scholarships that would have otherwise been unavailable."

During the course of the graduation ceremony, founder of HumanKind Water Billy Dunn will be speaking to wrap up Bridgeway’s “year of giving back to our communities.”
