Come and join us on National Care Home Open Day

COLCHESTER, U.K. - May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- The day, on Friday 21 June, has been planned by a number of leading care home providers and will see hundreds of care homes opening their doors to visitors.

National Care Home Open Day has been created to help dispel some of the myths that surround care homes.

Every day, thousands of people work hard to provide a safe and happy home for the older people who live there and although care homes always believe in openness and transparency, many people don’t realise what an active role homes play in their local communities.

For the many Care UK homes that are inviting visitors to join them on 21 June, National Care Home Open Day has been an opportunity to plan events that work best for the home and their community.

In some parts of the country you might find yourself joining residents and home teams for a barbecue, coffee morning or traditional tea party, whereas elsewhere there might be information about what charity work has been taking place, the chance to watch a film, be entertained by some visiting singers or even for youngsters to meet some miniature ponies.
