Redefining The Role Of Women In Hip Hop

NEW YORK - May 28, 2013 - PRLog -- Enter Stage Right…the Revolution of FRESH continues! On Friday, June 7, 2013 Bless Roxwell, CEO of J.A.G. Music and Media once again puts the spot light on women in Hip Hop as she produces She’s So Fresh Showcase V: The Freshest on Film. The fifth event of the successful series will be a partnership between J.A.G. Music and Media and the Sound and Vision Film Series at Norwood Club. Doors will open at 9:00 pm at The Norwood Club located at 241 West 14th St New York, NY 10011.

During the event, a documentary about the struggle and grind of 6 B-Girls from around the country, by Ana “Rokafella” Garcia, “All the ladies, say” will be viewed and followed by a discussion of an elite assembly of females in Hip Hop. The topic of discussion will be how to flourish as the only female representative in a male dominated aspect of hip hop from business, to music, to dance, and more. It will focus on how women stand firm while working with their male counterparts as equals and how to continue leading the path for the next generation of females in the game.  Bless Roxwell will moderate the panel. The featured panelists are Ana “Rokafella” Garcia: Founder of Full Circle Soul Dance Company, Director of All The Ladies Say, Lisa “Cynical” Smith: Filmmaker, Co-Owner of Bucktown USA, Host of Cyn City Wednesdays on Beatminerz Radio, Sara Kana: Coordinator of End of the Weak MC Showcase, Founder of Barz and Brastraps All Female Battle Competition, Apani B.
