-- The official story- Jeff Bezos- with a corporate not a tech background- invented the Kindle. Even in tech companies there are usually separate people: corporate management and the techies. Would Jeff Bezos have time to be both? The answer is- No.
Actually Michael Morales came up with the idea and drew up plans for books to be broadcast onto electronic devices. He had the expression of his plans clear so went to the Invention Submission Corportation (AKA InventionHelp)
for help in marketing. Mr. Morales only knew of their name: not their reputation. Mr. Morales is a working person who lives in the Bronx so is the proverbial little guy: not a person with the financial ability to take someone else's ideas or even to safeguard his own. The FTC has previously looked into the ISC and issued both fines and warnings concerning them. (see http://www.ftc.gov/
. Perhaps then it is not surprising that a short time later Mr. Morales started to see his invention everywhere but not in connection with him: Jeff Bezos registered the Kindle on November 19, 2007. Although having no tech background Mr. Bezos claimed the Kindle as his invention. Michael Morales could take no more and went to attorney Alexander Penley to see what could be done about this theft. The case is in pre-litigation stages.
