Follow on Google News | VaasaETT launches new partnerships on Residential Energy PricesBy: VaasaETT VaasaETT announced today that it has been commissioned by the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority to expand the coverage of the Household Energy Price Index (HEPI) to eight large Central and Eastern European Countries (Hungary, Croatia, Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia and Slovenia). The eight countries add to the EU-15 markets already tracked by HEPI, a monthly index established in 2008 by a collaboration of Energie-Control Austria and VaasaETT in order to correct a lack of current household energy price data in Europe. HEPI now encompasses over 500 million households representing 99% of the “EU-28″ population. “HEPI has come to be known as the most reliable and up-to-date source for residential energy prices in Europe. Our data has for instance recently been used by ACER and the CEER in their first annual Monitoring Report and is used regularly by the DG Energy at the European Commission for their quarterly reports on energy markets. We at VaasaETT are greatly excited that, thanks to the Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority, we can expand the coverage of our monthly study and improve energy price transparency for a much larger number of European households” says Christophe Dromacque, Head of Research at VaasaETT and manager of the HEPI project. The first public release of the HEPI index including Central and Eastern European countries is scheduled for September. If you would like to get the latest prices delivered automatically to your email, visit our project webpage energypriceindex.com and subscribe to the free monthly update of the HEPI index for Europe.
