Pyradia Industrial Ovens Installs Preheating Furnaces at Ma´aden.

LONGUEUIL, Quebec - May 24, 2013 - PRLog -- Pyradia´s engineers were heading to Saudi Arabia this week to complete the installation of 2 preheating furnaces representing Pyradia´s industrial ovens division as one of the equipment contractors for the Ma’aden’s Ras Al Khair (formerly Ras Az Zawr) Aluminium Smelter Project.

The scrap-alloy preheating furnaces will be installed in the cast house and be used for heating magnesium alloys or scrap to 150°C (302°F) at a rate of 7 tons per hour before being added to new aluminum in the melting furnaces.

The furnaces, which are insulated with 6 inches of mineral fiber and equipped with low-density Incoloy-sheathed tubular elements, are over 5 meters (16.4 feet) wide and 2 meters (6.5 feet) high. The smelter, located adjacent to the alumina refinery, is expected to have an annual rated production of 740,000 tons of aluminum.

Over the past 2 years Pyradia has been specifying, designing and manufacturing the furnaces with Ma´aden Saudi Arabian Mining Company and Saudi Arabian Bechtel Corporation, the EPCM consultant for the aluminium smelter, delivering over 30 tons worth of equipment.
