“Annaliza” remake to premiere on TFC worldwide this May

New Annaliza Andrea Brillantes all set to give justice to iconic role

QUEZON CITY, Philippines - May 24, 2013 - PRLog -- After much anticipation from television fans worldwide, the classic 80s soap opera Annaliza returns to television screens and premieres Monday, May 27 (May 28 Tokyo, Sydney and New Zealand time) on The Filipino Channel (TFC).

The original soap opera starring the late phenomenal child star Julie Vega gained a huge following more than two decades ago with its angelic star and simple, yet endearing story of a girl who touched the lives of other people despite her demise.  The remake is set to launch a new star in child actress Andrea Brillantes, who has proven her acting prowess by playing remarkable roles as Princess in E-Boy, young Jessy Mendiola in Sabel and Paraiso, young Kim Chiu in Ina Kapatid Anak, and young Andi Eigenmann in Kahit Puso’y Masugatan.

During the trade launch, the ten-year-old Brillantes suddenly burst into tears while walking on center stage when she realized that she is actually living her long-time dream of playing a lead in a TV series.  “I was already teary-eyed backstage, but when I came out on the stage and saw all the people clapping for me, tears instantly streamed down my face because it dawned on me that I am finally playing a lead role,” Brillantes recalled.

Projected to be the next teleserye princess and not wanting to put people down, Brillantes thoroughly prepared to reprise the role of Annaliza.  After undergoing workshops with top directors and acting mentors in the industry, Brillantes further immersed in her character as a young girl who grew in a fish port by bonding with kids from Navotas, where the promo shoot for the show was held. Her experience with the kids, according to Brillantes, helped her to understand her role better and see the world the way Annaliza does.

Annaliza is an endearing and heartwarming family drama about a baby, stolen from her biological and wealthy parents - the restopreneurs Lazaro (Patrick Garcia) and Isabel (Denise Laurel). It is Stella (Kaye Abad), Lazaro’s avenging ex-lover, who has the baby stolen with the help of her suitor Makoy (Carlo Aquino).  Afraid of being caught red-handed, Makoy leaves the child to his best friend Guido (Zanjoe Marudo), a fish port worker.  Despite his average and simple life, Guido wholeheartedly accepts Annaliza and raises her as his own daughter.  Annaliza begins to endure challenges and hardships in her young life when Guido eventually marries Stella and leaves for Saudi in the hope of giving them a better life. But fate rewards Annaliza's innate goodness by bringing her closer to Isabel and Lazaro, not knowing they are her true parents.
She will go through challenges that seem to be insurmountable, especially for a child like her, but will manage to conquer it all with her innocence, innate goodness and ability to love unconditionally.

Annaliza also marks several milestones.  Newly hailed blockbuster actor Marudo portrays a father in the small screen for the first time.  Annaliza also serves as the comeback soap for 90s teen superstars Garcia and Aquino, whose acting skills were again noticed by the public after their respective cameo appearances in Apoy sa Dagat and Dugong Buhay.

Also included in the cast are Khalil Ramos, Sue Ramirez, Kiko Estrada, Shy Carlos, Kyline Alcantara, Jillian Aguila, and Reign Tolentino. Annaliza is under the direction of Theodore Boborol and Cathy Camarillo and under the supervision of award-winning director and new ABS-CBN business unit head Ruel S. Bayani.

How will Annaliza discover her true identity? How will she suffer in the hands of Stella? In the end, who will she choose - her true parents or the man who raised her and treated her as his own?  Find out as Annaliza premieres on TFC worldwide on May 27 (May 28 Tokyo, Sydney and New Zealand time).  Witness Annaliza’s story unfold on TFC’s official online service TFC.tv, anytime, anywhere.  Connect with fellow global Kapamilyas on www.facebook.com/KapamilyaTFC
