According to the CPSC the annual average from 2007 to 2009 of drowning related deaths is 390 children ages 0 to 15 per year. This statistic becomes even more astonishing as Florida residents. Florida is a national leader in child drowning deaths. Taking part in formal swimming lessons is proven to reduce the risk of drowning among children significantly. As a leader in swim instruction in Northeast Florida it is important for Swimming Safari to use every opportunity available to educate their community on water safety skills. By reaching out to this summer camp, they are passing on precious survival techniques to students who do not regularly have access to pools or professional instruction.
