Bridgeport Village Announces 2013 Summer Concert Series

PORTLAND, Ore. - May 22, 2013 - PRLog -- Portland’s premiere shopping and dining destination, Bridgeport Village, announced its 2013 Summer Concert Series lineup which will feature the nation’s most renowned Neil Diamond impersonator act, SuperDiamond who will perform live on Thursday August 1st, 2013 at 7pm.

2013 marks the 7th season that Bridgeport Village has hosted its annual summer concert series, but the first time it was hosted an act of the stature of Super Diamond.  The first concert of the season will be July 11 featuring Hit Explosion and will wrap up on August 29th with the Beatniks

All shows are free, but a $1.00 donation is suggested to support the Foundation for Tigard-Tualatin Schoolswhich is collected by student volunteers at each show.  As in previous years, a portion of food and drink sales will also be donated to The Foundation for Tigard Tualatin Schools Bridging the Gap campaign.   To open each show, student performers will take the stage each Thursday at 5:30pm to warm up the crowd.   Musical headliners will take stage under the giant gazebo in the center rotunda from 7-9pm p.m.  The SuperDiamond show will require an expanded staging and production set-up.

“We are excited to announce this year’s lineup.  We feel it’s our best yet and are pleased to add SuperDiamond to the lineup.  They have a tremendous following and put on a spectacular show,” said Sarah Sumpter, Marketing Manager for Bridgeport Village.

Super Diamond, is a San Francisco based sextet formed in 1993 fronted by Randy Cordero, better known as “Surreal Neil” who does an uncanny impersonation of Diamond’s baritone voice.  The band has filled mid-size concert halls and developed a strong following throughout the Western United States, playing one or two times annually in most western US major cities.  One of the biggest fans of the band is Neil Diamond himself who has appeared on stage with the band several times over the years.
