DC Association of Chartered Public Schools Partners with BrainWare Safari

CHICAGO - May 21, 2013 - PRLog -- CHICAGO, IL (May 21, 2013) – BrainWare Safari and the DC Association of Chartered Public Schools (DCACPS) announced a new relationship that will enable DCACPS member schools to implement  BrainWare Safari cognitive skills development software at a reduced cost.

“One of the key roles of the DC Association of Chartered Public Schools is to share best practices with our members,” said Ramona Edelin, Executive Director of the Association.  “The incorporation of methods and tools that reflect what neuroscience can contribute to education is an opportunity that our schools can seize now and that can have a very rapid impact on student outcomes.  BrainWare Safari can be an important tool for our schools in helping students achieve at even higher levels.”

Award-winning BrainWare SAFARI is a tool that develops 41 cognitive skills in an engaging video-game format. Grounded in neuroscience, it combines the best practices of clinical therapy for attention, memory, visual and auditory processing, thinking and sensory integration skills with the motivation of a video game.  In published research, students who used the program for 12 weeks improved their cognitive ability by over 4 years and their performance on reading and math tests by almost 2 years.

“We have received so much interest coming out of the Congressional Briefing on Neuroscience in the Classroom that we held in January.” said Roger Stark, CEO of BrainWare Safari.  “Brain research is really taking its rightful place in education policy and practice.  We are very pleased to be working with this group of forward-thinking educators.”
