People Want To Know: Who Is God?

May 21, 2013 - PRLog -- The best description of God ever written can be found in the Bible at 1 John 4:7-21. The passage says that God is love. What is God? He is our creator and he is pure love of the deepest and purest form.

What does this mean to us as humans? It means that if we want to be close to God we too must have this pure and deep form of love in ourselves. We must let God’s love flood our hearts with his love. This flood must be so strong that it will flush out all hate that is currently in our hearts.

How do we flush hate out of our hearts?

In simple terms, to flush out hate from our hearts we must learn to turn loose of wanting to punish others for any bad they have done to us. We as humans can not do that on our own. We must have God’s help to flush out this hate from our hearts. Prayer, as you already know, is the first step to flushing out hate. But there are additional steps we must take.

The second step to flushing hate from our hearts is to invite love into our hearts. To invite love into our hearts there is a mental exercise that can be used to allow love to flow though our whole body.

What is the mental exercise that builds love?

Close your eyes and imagine being in a bright and sunny place. Feel the warmth of the sun on your skin. Allow yourself to feel the warmth of the sun rays. Once you can feel these imaginary sun rays, pray to God to convert these sun rays into pure love from him. Then imagine God’s full glory of love flowing thorough your whole body. Let God’s love flow into you as often as possible. Repeat this exercise each and every time you feel stressed or have any negative feelings. At the same time pray to God that you can feel his love. Soon you too will know God in his true form.  When you feel love, you will then know God.

Other people want to know If God is Love why suffering?

Why suffering is a very common question that so many ask. God allows suffering of humans because of free will. God is love and he wants humans to love him and each other out of free will.  God never wants to force us to do anything against our free will. As you already know there are many people that don’t have much love for either God or other humans. When these people use their free will in hurtful ways, others get hurt in the process. This hurt is not caused by God, but instead the hurt is caused by other humans that misuse their free will.

I was hurt by someone. Can I ever heal?

Yes, you can heal.  There is nothing humans can do to us that can’t be healed by God.  Even the most severe child abuse can be reversed with God’s love.  There is a book called “Gabriel’s Tears” that tells the story of someone that went through extreme child abuse.
