How to fix the problem of your R4i Gold 3DS?

May 21, 2013 - PRLog -- When you get a r4i gold 3ds, maybe you will meet many problems, such as black screen, no card insert or error etc. Here is how to fix these problems.    

Problem1: The screen show:  menu?

This is because you put a wrong kernel in your r4i gold 3ds (game4deal.com), go to the official site to download the newest kernel, unzip it, put all files into the root of sd card , then put the roms (.nds files) into the sd card also. insert the sd to r4i gold 3ds, put r4i gold 3ds into your console, done.

Problem2: The screen show: “an error occurs” with black background and white words.

This means your card need updating. The problem will occurs on 2 consoles,  DSi and 3DS. If your r4i gold 3ds(http://www.game4deal.com) is an old card, it cannot work on 3DS amd DSi newest version. go to the official site to download the update package, and the update step is:

1.Download the v4.5 package and unzip it.
2.Put the .nds file into the root of sd card.
3.Put the latest kernel into the root of sd card.
4.Put the sd into r4i gold 3ds, put r4i gold 3ds into the ds. Power on.
5.Start the “update”, and it will update by itself. Do not do any operate when it updating. Make sure the power is full and not power off during the updating.

When it become 100%, reboot the console.
Then the icon will change. And the card can support 3DS and DSi newest version perfectly.

Problem3: The card can’t be recognized, screen show “no card insert”

This have 2 reasons. one is the card is a bad card, the other is updating wrong. If your console is power off during the updating, the card will be damaged and can’t be recognized anymore or become white screen to freezing!

Problem4:  white screen or freeze

The same as Problem 4.

You can reflash the r4i gold 3ds to fix it. it need a good card (any card such as dstt) and a ds console.S

Step1: download the repair patch and unzip it.

Step2: put the dstt kernel and the patch file “3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSL.nds” into the root of sd card, put the sd card into dstt

Step3: start dstt on ds/dsl console, select the 3DS20_Patch_R4iGold_3DS_NDSL.nds

Step4: enter it and follow the instruction to put out dstt, put the damaged r4i gold 3ds into the console (don’t power off here)

Step5: press A to start

Step6: when it become “success”, done!

Then you can use your r4i gold 3ds again!
