“Let it Burn”

Tara Hamilton, organic farmer and owner of Organic Fresno launched a murder mystery Dinner Theater on February 14. “We wanted to share our favorite entertainment from Toronto and our love of organic food.” Their current script “A Story of Love” will conclude on June 1st.

The new script “Let it Burn” is a cooking competition. The 4 judges are comprised of two chefs, a teacher and a marketing maverick. “Sizzler specializing in the art of BBQ and has a fascination with fire and meat. Arrogant, successful, highly competitive and ruthless, the audience loves to hate Sizzler” says Tara Hamilton of her journalistic character. Searing Susan is patterned after the owner of Joe’s Steakhouse, a firm believer in downtown and family run businesses. The teacher is patterned after Klaus Tenbergen of Fresno State.

“$25 for dinner and a show make live theater accessible. We’ve had people come from Stockton, Bakersfield, and other outlying areas because our show is different than the ones in L.A. or Sacramento.” The audience member’s aren’t suspects and the actors aren’t audience member’s. The cast is comprised of local talent. Audience members eat their 4 course farm to fork dinner which highlights an ever changing menu of dishes made from local, organic ingredients. They then watch the comedic drama unfold. After mayhem breaks out, there is a short intermission where the dessert is served.  Then the investigation begins! Suspects are questioned and secrets are revealed. It is up to the audience to guess who had the most motive, means and opportunity.  Prizes are awarded for the correct solution. It is fun, family friendly and unique.

“Let it Burn” opens on June 7th and will run until July 13th.
It is performed at Organic Fresno at 903 N. Parkway Drive, off Highway 99.
Dinner and Show are $25 and run from 6 pm to 8:30 pm on Friday and Saturday. Vegan, Vegetarian, Gluten Free and Meat options are available.
