DJ Malike to Play Teen Event at Quality Life Center

FORT MYERS, Fla. - May 20, 2013 - PRLog -- Quality Life Center will host local teens for an end-of-school year celebration on Saturday, May 25, 2013 from 7:00 – 12:00 p.m. The event will feature FGCU graduate DJ Malike of Dunk City fame who will speak and play music. There will also be dance and spoken word performances. The center’s Executive Director, AH Muhammed wanted to give local teens a positive place to gather and have fun as the school year ends. “The violence in the community has a big impact on the children we serve, they are very close to it. We are trying to push this generation in a positive direction,” he said. This event will feature inspiring people who will encourage youth to fight the negative influences of the streets. There will be positive messages such as staying in school, violence and teen pregnancy prevention and respecting oneself. Youth from Quality Life Center’s teen leadership program are taking an active role in planning, marketing and running the event. The cost is $5 per person, and will take place at the center at 3210 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Fort Myers. Food will be available for purchase from Flavor’s Café.
