The UK NHS Trust runs and operates a dedicated mental health department that runs several facilities through the United Kingdom in every county of the country. After the demise of the CRT screen when recently the manufacturers stopped manufacturing replacement components, this has now pushed the NHS down the route of using flat panel displays, however the constant issue is with client safety should they try to self harm, and as you can appreciate a flat screen TV could be used as a tool to attack other patients or even staff.
This is why the NHS Trust's turned to DOOH Limited to use their 24 years of expedience manufacturing protective housings and to use their anti ligature TV housing. The range offered covers flat panel TVs from 15” up to 65” in a secure environment. Once the protective housing is received, it needs only to be bolted to the wall and ready to take a flat panel TV.
The anti ligature flat screen TV housings are made from steel and are fitted with impact resistant viewing window that will withstand a fire extinguisher being thrown at it.
One main factor that secure the contract was the standard warranty on the product of 3 years, this covers both parts and labour.
The protective anti ligature TV housing comes with an internal TV bracket, suitable ventilation for psychiatric unit use as well as a sophisticated thermostatic cooling system (low noise) to ensure the TV does not over heat and burn out. The protective housing is locked with 2 high security flush fitting locks and cable access is through the rear ensuring that nothing is outside the housing to harm patients.
