Job Security: Why Millennials Have Deemed It A Myth And Are Changing Career Models

HerAgenda.com Hosts Internet Week Panel to Mobilize Women in Creating Financial Security By Developing Multiple Revenue Streams

NEW YORK - May 16, 2013 - PRLog -- Let’s face it – having one paycheck is as outdated as having a phone without a camera. While the economy appears to be improving, it’s never a good idea to place all of your eggs in one basket. Whether that basket is your current job, savings account, or retirement fund, there is no security in having only one option. So what’s the next best logical thing to do? Go out and get yourself some more baskets.

If you have no clue where to start, HerAgenda.com will provide some insight at its next panel discussion during Internet Week New York: “How to Generate & Develop Multiple Revenue Streams.” Moderated by Black Enterprise’s Janell P. Hazelwood, the panel aims to walk attendees through the experiences of four power women who have developed multiple income streams and to provide you with the footing you need to get started.

“As Millennial women, we need to add career resilience and financial security to our agenda. Whether you’re an entrepreneur or young professional, in order to gain true freedom and independence we need to realize the importance of generating multiple income streams,” says Founder of Her Agenda, Rhonesha Byng.

Panelists include Tionna Smalls – author, entrepreneur, and star of the new MTV show “Girl, Get Your Mind Right,” Steph Auteri – freelance writer and editor, Tiffany the Budgetnista – author of bestseller: The One Week Budget and financial literacy educator, and Johnica Reed – entrepreneur and consultant. All of these women wear many hats on a daily basis and are eager to share their unique stories.

“Jobs aren’t a viable construct going forward. The notion that most of us will earn our living in the future through an employee/employer relationship is headed for the scrap heap of economic history. The next two decades will pretty much cleanse us of the sport of waiting for the job creation numbers to come out,” says Dave Maney, FORBES Contributor. Her Agenda seeks to give millennial women a running start on achieving financial independence regardless of the state of the economy.

The hashtag for the event is #HerRevenue. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at heragendapanel.eventbee.com. The panel is set to take place on Thursday May 23rd from 6:30 – 8:30PM at The Alley NYC at 500 7th Avenue, 17th Floor, New York, NY 10018.
