BASINGSTOKE, U.K. - May 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Welsh Rarebits is the UK’s leading collection of 44 country house hotels, traditional inns, gourmet bolt holes and boutique hotels, and no fewer than 30 of them welcome well-behaved dogs, so that the family pet can also enjoy a holiday!

Here are just three hotels that really go the extra mile for our four-legged friends.

The Falcondale, Lampeter:  The owners of The Falcondale hotel have two cocker spaniels and have instilled a dog friendly attitude amongst the staff.  Dogs are welcomed with homemade biscuits on check-in and are offered a water bowl after the long car journey. A dog bowl, blanket and treat are placed in rooms.  A handy guide for dogs (and their owners) are available on the website, and are also attached to email confirmations and placed in rooms where dogs are staying.  Dogs are welcome in the public lounge and conservatory areas, and owners can eat breakfast or/and dinner in the conservatory with their best friend beside them.

The property has 14 acres of grounds, perfect for those early morning or/and late night walks.  Numerous maps and guides are available from reception, which can be borrowed or bought.  Dogs are charged at £10 per night but are free during National Pet Month (1st April to 6th May).  Double rooms from £149 (B&B).  Call 01570 422 910 (www.rarebits.co.uk)

Peterstone Court Hotel, Llanhamlach, Brecon:
Peterstone Court Hotel offers dog beds, bowls and treats in the rooms.  There are four ‘Stable Rooms’ which are located just off the main house.  They are based on 2 levels and are recommended for people who bring their dogs with them, as there is plenty of open grass outside the front door.  Dogs are charged at £10 per night. Double rooms from £125 (B&B). Call 01874 665 387 (www.rarebits.co.uk)

Felin Fach Griffin, Brecon:
This small, family-run hotel is located on the doorstep of the Brecon Beacons and arriving dogs are encouraged to introduce their dogs to Max, the owners’ resident Kelpie Collie cross.  If people want their dog to lie next to them at dinner, the hotel has specially assigned tables in the bar area.  There is a special K9 cupboard outside Room 4 which guests are free to help themselves to. It includes small dog biscuits for bedtime or breakfast, towels, a water bowl, black plastic bags and old sheets to protect blankets.  No charge for dogs.  Rooms have water bowls and treats for dogs on arrival.
