Digital Family Summit 2013 Announces Call for Speakers

The Digital Family Summit, the premiere conference for digital teens, tweens, and their digital parents, announces a call for speakers. Applications will be accepted now through July 7, 2013. Conference will be held in Baltimore October 11-13.
 
BALTIMORE - May 15, 2013 - PRLog -- Baltimore, MD - 05/15/13 - Digital Family Summit today announced its "Call for Speakers" for the 2013 Digital Family Summit, the digital media event for tweens, teens and their parents, for its second annual conference to be held October 11-13, 2013 in Baltimore Maryland.


  The Second Annual Digital Family Summit will be held in Baltimore October 11-13, 2013.

The inaugural conference in 2012 featured prominent adult and tween/teen speakers, including:
Dave Carroll of United Breaks Guitars
Theresa Payton, former White House CIO
Abby West from Entertainment Weekly
• Teen Tori Molnar, founder of MyUtoria.com
Nick Normile, teen founder of Foodie at Fifteen
• Teen social media consultant Lane Sutton

Official Summit sponsor Microsoft sponsored the Digital Safety track, including sessions on Safety First: What Every Kid (and Parent) Needs to Know About Internet Security and Parenting Digital Kids.

Digital Family Summit speakers, including teens, tweens and adults, approach topics in a fun and educational manner and reach kids and parents at various skill and knowledge levels. 2012 panel and keynote topics included the above Digital Safety presentations, as well as the following:

• The Next Steve Jobs: Meet the New Teen Entrepreneurs
• The Family That Blogs Together - Growing Up Digital
• Is That Even Legal?

Hands-on workshops, presented by professionals in their field, included Digital Photography, Scratch Animation, Travel Blogging and Digital Video.

Digital Family Summit panels and sessions will each be attended by approximately 75-100 attendees and will last approximately one hour; keynotes will be attended by 350 people and will range from 20 minutes to one hour. Workshops will have 40-50 tweens in attendance for two and one-half hours.
