By: Gorgeous PR -- DJ Brian Lush, Rockwired Los Angeles-based pop singer/songwriter Ben Caron has been working on his debut album for a solid year. The project, which will be released on Tuesday, June 4, 2013, was recorded as a series of three fan-funded EPs, each one consisting of three original songs. Donations were collected via his own personal website, without the assistance of sites such as Kickstarter or IndieGoGo, and the proceeds covered all of the expenses – production costs, remastering, pressing physical copies – of Ben’s eleven-track album. “My fans have continuously surprised me throughout this project,” shares Caron. “I came to them for donations for the first EP, then the second, then the third, and then to remaster the tracks and put them together as an album and at any time their support could have waned, but it never did. They overwhelmed me with their generosity.” Ben’s ability to build a community and draw new fans has been proven time and again at his live performances, which are known to sell out. In the year that it has taken Ben to complete his album, his live performances have become legendary. His charisma and unadulterated verve for his music, as well as his genuine appreciation of his fans, comes across like a blazing ray of sunlight. Known for a beautifully clear and resonating voice, and his heartfelt lyrics, Ben is a passionate wordsmith. Writing about early morning musings on love in “The Sunlight Speaks for Me” or the gymnastic-like efforts of getting someone’s attention in “Climbing Ladders,” Ben’s music is easily relatable and addictively catchy. The tracks on this album get into your head and stay there for days. You can’t help but sing along – they’re that good. Even the darker tracks on the album feel as if they could have been based on a private journal entry; from the anthem of unrequited love, “Love Me Too,” to the tender song about learning to throw it all in for love, “Wholeheartedly.” Recorded at New West Records (Los Angeles), Cliff Jumpers Studios (Los Angeles), and in friends’ garages and closets, Ben’s album was produced and engineered by Jonny Morrow and mixed by Richard Garcia. The band for the project consisted of Jonny Morrow on Bass, Nicholas Perez on Guitar, Jake Simpson on Keys/Rhodes, and Kiel Feher on Drums. Background vocals were performed by Anthony Strarble. The album was mastered by Ron Boustead of Resolution Mastering.
