Author Stolen Video Footage Hits the Web
Ex-pat Brit/Canadian Author, Andrew Buckley's computer was recently hacked and video footage of a questionable nature has been leaked to YouTube.
The contents of the video are disturbing, scandalous, and amusing. The footage runs just over 8 minutes in length and features Buckley, completely naked, reading the prologue from Death, the Devil, and the Goldfish. While private bits are well hidden there is a brief heart-stopping close-call near the end. While the video is definitely homemade it does bring into question the claim that it was 'stolen'. Many surmise that it's nothing more than an off-the-wall marketing campaign.
Death, the Devil, and the Goldfish is the debut novel from Buckley, published by Curiosity Quills Press, and takes a seriously satirical look at hard-hitting, real-world issues like nervous ducks, men who used to be penguins, the vacation packing routine of the Devil, and the importance of a clearly marked afterlife.
As stated on his website www.planetkibi.com, Buckley is a UK born author who currently resides in the Okanagan Valley, BC with 3 kids, 2 cats, a very needy dog, 1 beautiful wife, and a multitude of voices that live comfortably inside his head.
In May 2012 Buckley signed with Curiosity Quills Press, a small press made up of professional literary marauders whose innovative and progressive publishing methods will one day take over the literary world. Utilizing social media, professional networks, and creative minds on an international scale, Curiosity Quills stands at the front of an ever-changing literary landscape.
With the literary landscape in a constant state of change it's likely that such marketing techniques will become more common as indie authors put themselves in the spotlight and strive to be noticed by readers. Something that Buckley seems quite prepared to do.
