Lyndhurst Day Festival in Northern NJ

MONTVALE, N.J. - May 11, 2013 - PRLog -- Lyndhurst Day 2013, which will take place on Saturday, May 11th, has something for everyone.

According to mybergen.com, this is a family fun day packed with all types of activities, from a Swim-a-Thon, 5K Run/Fitness Walk, and track meet to the first Health, Safety, and Life Expo being sponsored in Partnership with the Bergen County Department of Health Services (BCDHS).

The day begins at with a 7th & 8th grade track meet at the Lyndhurst High School track and a “Kids on the Move” event will take place for the younger sect; featuring a bouncy house, face painting, and many other kid-friendly activities.

Two events for the physically fit will also be held at that time. The Swim-a-Thon at the Community Pool will benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, while the 5K Run/Fitness Walk at Town Hall Park is on behalf of the Tomorrow's Children Fund.

Join Bergen County Executive Kathleen A. Donovan and Bergen County Health Director Dr. Nancy Mangieri at the first ever Health, Safety, and Life Expo at Town Hall Park (Delafield & Court Avenues). The event will begin with a ribbon-cutting by centenarian Marie Malone and will feature over 100 informational booths, various health screenings, musical performances, and interactive Zumba and exercise programs, amongst its many offerings.

The Bergen County Animal Shelter and Adoption Center will be doing micro-chipping demonstrations and offering discounts on the valuable procedure. The Teterboro-based facility will also have adorable pets in tow that are looking for a loving home.

In addition, the Bergen County Master Gardeners and the Bergen County Zoo will be represented. Bergen County Health Department’s very own Touray Holland will also be signing collectibles as his Health Expo logo design (pictured below) earned a US Post Office First Day Cover (FDC) cancellation (An FDC is an envelope or card bearing a stamp which is cancelled on the day the stamp is initially placed on sale by the postal authorities).
