Introducing DIT's New Hydra Series - Worlds First 21.5" Quad-Head Display Drawer

VISTA, Calif. - May 10, 2013 - PRLog -- Display Integration Technologies (DIT) is building on the success of it's PDD3 family of multi-display rack drawer products by introducing the Hydra Series, which represents the worlds first 21.5" Quad-Head Rack Mount Display Platform. The advent of the Hydra platform presents a new world of versatility by offering scalable configurations from 1 to 4 screens, each providing Full HD (1920x1080) Widescreen support. The Hydra accommodates 1, 2, and 3 screen variants within a 3U 26" deep form factor for use in a standard 19" rack, while the 4U accommodates the new Quad display.

 The drive behind this new development was primarily to meet the ever evolving customer requirements for larger displays with increased ruggedness but still within a small rack mount form factor. The Hydra display's outer frame and drawer platform is constructed out of 5052-H32 Aluminum. The drawer extends from the frame by the use of rigid steel friction slides. The display support structure is constructed out of 6061-T6 Aluminum which utilizes gas springs and torque hinges for support. The Hydra also provides concealed cable management and an integrated monitor shut-off switch which engages when closed.

 The introduction of this platform includes a new OSD button board (Patent Pending) which was developed specifically for use with multi-display systems. In the past each panel typically required it’s own independent OSD button board and controls to manage, which can become quite cumbersome. The new OSD button board mounted on the center screen takes a unified approach. The new button board allows you to toggle control of each panel individually or all panels at once as desired. This new OSD management creates a level of control never before experienced in a multi-head display system.

 To complement the design, an adjustable front face was developed, which can be brought up and stowed out of the way so that it doesn’t obscure any equipment mounted below.

 The Hydra also offers the latest in LCD control technology with support for;
 Digital-Picture in Picture (viewing up to 8 sources at once)
 Remote Control via Network, RS-232 or IR remote
 Discrete Inputs Include:
 aRGB/VGA
 DVI-D
 HDMI
 Composite (2x)
 YPbPr
 Single or Dual Channel HD/SD-SDI (Optional)

 Other improvements include optional high bright displays, rugged lenses, and touch options which can now be provided on every panel.
