CHICAGO - May 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Lollapalooza (http://www.conciergepreferred.com/chicago-festivals/5177-lollapalooza-chicago-2013.html), the most anticipated music festival of the year, returns to its established home in Chicago this summer for three days of unforgettable festivities, August 2nd – 4th. Spread across 115 acres of historic Grant Park, with over 130 buzz worthy bands performing live, this sensational summer music festival draws in crowds of music fans from across the country.

Headliners & Entertainment

Headlining bands for 2013 include Mumford & Suns, The Killers, Eric Church, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, The Postal Service, The Lumineers, and many more. This list of headliners and the rest of the 2013 Lollapalooza lineup (http://lineup.lollapalooza.com/) made it one the fastest selling festivals in Chicago history!

Lollapalooza prides itself on being first and foremost a celebration of great music, but there’ll be a ton of other exciting entertainment options filling the gaps in Grant Park. Popular activities from past festivals have included the Red Bull Soundstage – a platform for new musical artists to show off their stuff, and network with some of the biggest names in the business. For those hoping to meet the musical artists they know and love, the f.y.e. Autograph tent is known for providing a chance for fans to snag autographs from their favorite artists, or buy their latest albums. Artist interviews and performances also usually convene in the air-conditioned Google Play stage, a great spot to cool off. Meanwhile, the PlayStation Society tent offers gamers the chance to test out newly released PlayStation systems and pre-released PS3 games, and the Ray-Ban’s Gallery of Legends features both new and iconic rock photography.

No music festival is complete without great food, though the line-up of grub to be served at Lolla this year is yet to be announced. An equally wide range of refreshing beverages options is also expected, and past festivals have even hosted the Uncorked Wine Lounge, presented by Pass the Bottle – a shaded patio area that plays the Lollapalooza performances on large flat screens, while guests sip a glass of summer wine.

For the Kids

As an extra bonus, children age 10 and under may enter Lollapalooza for free. Little ones will enjoy the many activities offered as part of Kidzapalooza, which runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. For more kid-friendly activities, check out the Prius Family Playground for all your favorite childhood games; the Hip-Hop Workshop with the Q Brothers to teach kids how to scratch, beat box, and rhyme; and the Tatooz and Hairdooz stands to help the little rock stars look the part!

What To Bring

Lollapalooza is proud to be a clean and green summer music festival, and encourages festival-goers to pack their re-usable personal water bottles to help limit littering, but each participant is allowed to enter with up to two factory-sealed water bottles as well. Personal water bottles can be refilled at CamelBack filling stations.

Other permissible items include blankets, sheets, towels, hand-held umbrellas, soft-sided coolers, baby strollers, binoculars, and non-professional recording equipment.

Want to bring some of these items, but don’t want to haul them around? As a bonus, in past years the State Farm Bag Check has offered to hang onto festival-goers personal belongings, to make traversing through Grant Park all the easier.

There are also numerous items that are prohibited from Lollapalooza, such as obvious items like weapons, illicit substances, and fireworks or explosives. Less obvious prohibited items include large backpacks, glass containers, metal aerosol cans, outside food and drink, carts, tents and chairs, hard-sided coolers, pets, skateboards and scooters, and professional recording equipment.

There will be plenty of bike racks available nearby for those biking to the festival, but bikes will not allowed to enter Grant Park. Unauthorized solicitations (participants handing out samples or give-a-ways), and the sale of food or drink from unlicensed vendors, will also not be allowed.
