Sporting Clays Tournament Provides Funding for Scouting Programs

SAN ANTONIO - May 9, 2013 - PRLog -- Locally based accounting firm, Padgett Stratemann & Co. LLP continues their partnership with the Boy Scouts of America Alamo Area Council in San Antonio to raise money for its Scouting  programs.  The money is to be raised during the nonprofit’s annual Aim High & Let ’Em Fly charity sporting clays tournament.

Padgett Stratemann will serve as lead sponsor for the eighth year in a row and will offer financial support, as well as donate staffing and resources to the event.

Scouting programs supported include Project Aguila, a board initiative to create long-standing Scouting units in new areas of need, and ScoutReach, an in-school program that serves over 4,000 at-risk youth.

“Our communities can find a partner in Scouting to provide hope and a positive influence for our kids.  Scouting provides a safe, time tested values based environment that gets them outdoors, and this tournament supports that,” says Michael de los Santos, Scout Executive for the Alamo Area Council, BSA

“This is a great event for a great cause at the World’s largest shooting facility,” says Stephanie Woods, Co-chair of the event and Director of Training for Padgett Stratemann University.

The tournament will be held on May 9 at the National Shooting Complex on 5931 Roft Road. The National Shooting Complex is one of the premier shooting facilities in the world, spanning 671 acres of San Antonio countryside. As the headquarters for the National Skeet Shooting Association and National Sporting Clays Association, it hosts elite tournaments for both sports, including the World Skeet Championships and National Sporting Clays Championship.  The tournament officially starts at 2 p.m.
