Starnet Data Design's COO Honored at JDRF LA Gala

WESTLAKE VILLAGE, Calif. - May 8, 2013 - PRLog -- JDRF is the leading global organization focused on type 1 diabetes (T1D) research, funding T1D research since its founding in 1970.

Diabetes is a serious and growing health problem with over 3 million people in the U.S. who suffer from type 1 diabetes.   The good news is that JDRF is making great progress against this potentially devastating disease and together, we can deliver better treatments and eventually a cure.

"It is such an honor to be recognized as one of the Extraordinary Women at this year’s JDRF Gala" said Nancy Marks, Chief Operating Officer for Starnet Data Design.  The other honorees are Ellyn Garofalo, Lisa Hansen, Andrea King, Erin Wehrenberg, and Marci Wiseman.  “My fellow honorees are truly extraordinary women!”

As a small business located in Thousand Oaks, we wanted to help with the fundraising efforts.  We've been successful in this community for over 25 years supporting local businesses, government and customers with their computer networking and storage needs.  Starnet’s Rebate for Charity Program, just one of the ways Starnet’s team makes a difference.

Thank you to all the local businesses and individuals that support the JDRF Los Angeles Chapter (JDRF LA).  Together we raised over $1 million at the Finding A Cure: The Love Story Gala which was held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza on Saturday, May 4, 2013.
