Houston Special Limited Engagement: The Houston tour date is very unique because of Nelson’s ties to the region through her Sorority Alpha Kappa Alpha (South Central Region) and her expansive corporate and media platform. Nelson was in Houston briefly in 2012 with her award-winning hardcover book, as moderator of Rolling Out Magazine's "Female Success Factor" Panel at the 2012 Metamorphosis Conference. This time, she will be here for several days speaking, doing private corporate events (http://www.prlog.org/ Houston surgeon Sonya Sloan, MD is the official event host. Sloan is one of the nation's few African American female orthopedic surgeons (http://www.prlog.org/ Nelson and Sloan are both members of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. And they have combined to make a positive impact on women of the next generation (as well as their own GENX) by teaching what Nelson like to call, "life tools" that help women to better balance, integrate, appreciate, collaborate with and support one another in an out of the workforce.
