Newberry Estates Wins Prestigious Award

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. - May 8, 2013 - PRLog -- Newberry Estates, located in Williamsport, Pennsylvania and owned by Williamsport Village Associates, is pleased to announce that they have been presented with the 2012 Communities of Quality Award in the Exemplary Family Development category from the National Affordable Housing Management Association (NAHMA). Impressively, Newberry Estates is the only national recipient of this award this year.

Newberry Estates was honored with this award at the NAHMA COQ Awards Luncheon on March 25 at the Fairmont Washington in Washington, D.C., along with the rest of the 2012 COQ awards winners.

To be eligible for the Exemplary Family Development category from NAHMA, a property’s overall management, including the condition of the property and how it will perform on HUD physical inspection, the management and occupancy inspections, the financial outlook of the property and the credentials of the management team, is taken into consideration. Newberry Estates is managed by Community Realty Management, based out of Pleasantville, N.J.

In addition to having an exceptional property, the winning community must also be able to enhance the lives of the residents with both social and educational programs and services. Newberry Estates provides residents with several programs including financial literacy classes, book clubs, family nights, parenting instruction sessions and more.

According to Kris Cook, Executive Director of NAHMA, it’s quite an accomplishment to be named a National Community of Quality Award winner. The competitive process has properties competing head-to-head against one another, and the independent panel of judges carefully analyzes the entries to select one winner.
