Ken Poteet and Sterling Bank sponsor Brian Owens tour, sendoff show

CLAYTON, Mo. - May 6, 2013 - PRLog -- Sterling Bank of Clayton has partnered with recording artist Brian Owens for his upcoming East Coast tour and an October 18th official send-off concert.

Sterling Bank first partnered with Brian this spring with the launch of the Sofa Series, an intimate, private concert series that paired Brian with such celebrated St. Louis artists as Erin Bode, Christine Brewer and Peter Martin. The final concert of the 2012 Sterling Bank Music Series on October 18th at 6 p.m. (50 S. Bemiston in Clayton) was the official send-off for Brian as he embarks October 22nd on a jam-packed tour to promote his debut album, Moods & Messages. Based on the success of the maiden series, Sterling Bank has announced its commitment to a 2013 series.

Since its September release in both the United States and Japan, Moods & Messages has thrust Brian onto the radar of the industry and quickly spread his soulful voice throughout the music-loving community. Offering up a unique brand of soul, rooted in the musical traditions of St. Louis, the debut single, “Open (Lovely Day),” peaked at #36 on the Billboard AC airplay charts. With national distribution through Sony’s BDG/RED (a division of Sony Music Entertainment), Moods & Messages earned top placement on Apple’s I-tunes with aggressive, first-week sales, all while garnering critical acclaim from many in the music industry.

Brian's 12-day press and performance tour to New York, Philadelphia and Atlanta, a courtesy of the St. Louis record label Destin 2B1 and Sterling Bank, includes interviews and music presentations with national media outlets, a live broadcast with veteran radio personality Dyana Williams for Radio One's Soulful Sundays (Philadelphia’s WRNB 100.3), and a special acoustic performance at Sony Music Entertainment.

In addition, Brian has been invited to perform on October 24th at one of New York’s most prestigious venues, known as S.O.B.’s, in conjunction with the Sol Village series, as hosted by Eric Roberson. Brian will also perform at one of the top music venues in Philadelphia, the World Cafe Live on October 31st and in Atlanta at ATL Live on the Park on November 13th. These performances and interviews will be landmark introductions of this treasured St. Louis artist to the taste makers and influential music lovers of three major U.S. Markets.
