This Mother's Day, consider an invisible mother, yet mother to us all...

May 5, 2013 - PRLog -- Asheville, N.C., May 8th, 2013 — This Mother's Day, Asheville author and vocalist Dielle Ciesco hopes that folks will take a moment to consider their unknown mother. What is she talking about?

A vocal activist, healer, and teacher, Dielle writes about her lifetime of exploring the mysteries and subtleties of the power of voice, the meaning of words, and the properties of sound in her book, The Unknown Mother: A Magical Walk with the Goddess of Sound, published in January by Roundfire Books (ISBN: 978-1780996318). Dielle will be reading and offering an experience in vocal toning at City Lights Bookstore (http://www.citylightsnc.com) May 25th at 3PM.

In the book, she writes about Cymatics. With its roots in the acoustical work of Ernst Chladni, Cymatics was developed by Hans Jenny, a scientist who tested the interactions of quartz sand with sine waves. By placing sand on a vibrating plate or tonoscope, simple to complex and beautiful geometric patterns emerged. Cymatic scientists have found that the same tone reproduces the same design again and again visually verifying that sound creates matter. Sound is what gives shape to form.

Dielle explains, "People don't realize that we come from sound. We are vibrational beings, and sound is our true mother...unknown because she works invisibly, but none-the-less powerful. I want people to know her and to begin to understand that power because it has amazing potential to heal."
