First let us begin with what makes Ultraguard epoxy an ecosmart epoxy. Ultraguard epoxy resins are made from florals and soybeans resulting in a bio-resin that is non-toxic, odorless and 100% green. The first part of this money saving ecosmart system is the Ultraguard Primer Bond which is a low viscosity, deep penetrating epoxy that gets deep down into the porous surfaces of the swimming pool. Next part of Ultraguard’s 2 part ecosmart epoxy system is the Ultraguard Super Epoxy. This hi-build epoxy top coat goes on top of the Primer Bond after it cures and adheres at 2,800 psi to 3,500 psi depending on the substrate of the swimming pool. Super glue standards are from 2,000 psi to 3,000 psi to give an idea of adhesion strengths. This is where Ultraguard epoxies show they are truly an ecosmart epoxy by not releasing any toxic fumes as they cure, thus curing 100% solid not having any excess chemical settle off the actual epoxy top coat. Not only that Ultraguard’s Super Epoxy is so durable it can be beat and beat again without being scratched due to its tensile strength and being completely non-porous. As the Ultraguard Super Epoxy goes on it becomes harmoniously one with the entire swimming pool resulting in one monolithic structure. It doesn’t stop here though the added benefit of microban means reduced chemical usage due to chemical and algae resistance. No need to shock the swimming pool, use obnoxious amounts of chlorine or use of algaecides. This is the final product, a swimming pool that lasts long, reduces chemicals and is in no way toxic to its environment, indeed beyond most ecosmart epoxy systems by definition.
