Follow on Google News | Ricky Sinclair Sends His Condolences For George Jones“I send my prayer to the family and friends of George Jones,” says Bishop Ricky Sinclair. “We have definitely lost an important part of country music.” It is amazing how much influence one person can have on so many people.
George Jones performed hundreds of times at Nashville's Grand Ole Opry House – whether on the WSM Radio show, or appearing on such shows from the auditorium like the CMA Awards, so it's only appropriate that this morning's funeral has turned out to be a farewell fit for a country king. (www.billboard.com/ The friends and fellow performers who spoke at George Jones' funeral Thursday repeated many of the well-known stories about the country singer's life. He once drove a mile and a half to a liquor store on a riding lawn mower. After years of battling alcohol and drug abuse, he finally turned around his life after a near-fatal 1999 auto accident. He could sing a country song like no one else who ever lived. (http://www.usatoday.com/ Jones, nicknamed "The Possum" for his resemblance to the animal, was born in 1931 in east Texas. His early life was marked by poverty and a violent, alcoholic father. Young George taught himself to play guitar, and by the time he was a teenager he was singing on the streets and in the clubs of Beaumont, Texas, not far from his birthplace of Saratoga. (http://www.cnn.com/ Jones, 81, died Friday (April 26, 2013) after a week-long hospitalization at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As news came of his passing, the country music community — fans and fellow artists — immediately responded with an outpouring of grief and memories. (http://www.georgejones.com/ “I send my prayer to the family and friends of George Jones,” says Bishop Ricky Sinclair. “We have definitely lost an important part of country music.” It is amazing how much influence one person can have on so many people. We can look back at his life and see how a boy who went through so many traumas turned into a man who captivated so many hearts. The Bible says, “But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong,” in 1 Corinthians 1:27. So many times people will make preconceived ideas or judgments on the success of people by their past. In fact, no one can tell what is in store for anyone. Just as George Jones turned his life around; so many others do also. We have to give people an opportunity for a second chance and even a third and fourth chance. How many chances did God give you to get it right? “I thank God every day for second chances,” states Sinclair. Bishop Ricky Sinclair of Miracle Place Church also had a shaky start. Also being raised with an alcoholic father and going down a life with drugs, Ricky came into severe circumstances in which he found God. He turned his life around and now is a Bishop in Baker, La. and has a special ministry called All The Way House.
