Lewis Construction Equipment to Launch New Liugong Single-Drum Rollers on the Australian Market

Lewis Construction Equipment in Adelaide, one of the country’s leading construction and agricultural machinery dealers, is set to introduce into Australia the latest range of compaction rollers from leading international manufacturer Liugong.
WINGFIELD, Australia - May 3, 2013 - PRLog -- 2013 will see the introduction into Australia of the new CLG661 range of Liugong single-drum rollers.  Leading the way will be Lewis Construction Equipment, based in Adelaide, who is one of Australia’s most well-established Liugong dealers, and who works in close partnership with the manufacturer.

“We’re really looking forward to being able to offer this new range of compaction rollers to Australian construction companies,” said Dylan Caldwell of Lewis Construction Equipment.  “They combine premium international engine technology, advanced operator comfort, and a design that emphasis reliability and durability, so we think they are going to be extremely well received here.”

There are three models in the series - CLG6611E, CLG6613E, CLG6615E - and all have been developed to the highest western standards.  In addition, they are designed and built to work in a variety of demanding environments and so will be ideally suited to remote Australian worksites.  The operating width on all three models is 2100mm and there are three different drum diameters available - 1500mm, 1600mm and 1700mm.

Dylan Caldwell added, “The three different models have rated working weights between 16,800kg and 23,000kg, and all feature outstanding engineering by leading international component makers.  They’re powered by Cummins QSB6.7-C190 diesel engines, the hydraulic pumps and valves are made by Sauer of the USA, and they’re fitted with axles by the leading German company ZF.  This means that you can really trust the technology that has gone into these machines.”

Another standout feature of these Liugong rollers is their innovative design and the emphasis they place on operator comfort and ease of maintenance.

“These rollers all have a low overall height, and the cab is designed so as to provide 360-degree vision, meaning they create a very safe work environment for operators,” said Dylan Caldwell.  The cab also features front and rear wipers, defrosting glass and an internal rearview mirror, and is s fitted with ROPS.  “Liugong CLG661 rollers also have low noise and vibration insulation, as well as air conditioning, a sunroof and a rotary Grammer seat.  The control assembly is easy to reach and use, and so is the compaction meter.  You can work really comfortably in these machines for long periods of time.”

In addition, the Liugong CLG661 series features a unique double vibration reduction system, meaning they provide a quiet, smooth ride, and which also contributes to the lifespan of components.  Overall, the operator environment is designed very much with both safety and well-being at the forefront.

“Another reason why these machines will prove popular in Australia,” said Dylan Caldwell, “is that they are designed to be extremely easy to maintain.  That’s really important to us and to our customers, and especially for construction companies working in remote parts of the country, where worksites can be a long way from workshops or service centres.”

All three models feature a sleek, aerodynamic hood design with a self-lift bonnet that allows easy access for inspection and to perform routine maintenance tasks, and it is designed so as to provide both noise and heat insulation.  The hood design also allows maximum air flow and prevents water intake, which contributes to overall engine effectiveness and efficiency.  Additionally, all of the CLG661 series rollers have a rear-mounted engine in a fully-enclosed frame, while the radiator and hydraulic pump are also located at the rear of the cab, helping to minimise dust intake and to make access for the minimal daily maintenance that is required more straightforward.

However, if there is a need for repairs or a new part for a machine, Lewis Construction Equipment is well placed to ensure that its customers receive first-class back-up.  “We have a great working relationship with Liugong that we have established over many years, and this means we can pass on outstanding support to our customers,” said Dylan Caldwell.  “Our network means that we can always supply spare parts quickly, and we can also provide extensive technical support.  This means that with Liugong rollers, we’re able to offer the Australian construction industry not only a first-class machine, but also premium quality back-up and support.”

This combination of world-class operating technology, a high-quality cab, and ease of maintenance, means that this new range of Liugong compaction rollers looks set make a significant impact on the Australian construction industry.  In addition, this is backed by expert service and support by Lewis Construction Equipment, and so it is easy to see why these new Liugong single-drum rollers can be expected set a new standard.
