PETERSFIELD, U.K. - May 1, 2013 - PRLog -- Bedales Schools Headmaster, Keith Budge and his wife Moony, helped welcome the Princess Royal to the launch of Save the Children’s 50th anniversary sale in Petersfield on 18 April. Keith was invited to attend in recognition of the school’s support for the Petersfield Save the Children branch over the years. Moony was there because of her integral role as committee member and former Chair of the local branch.

In addition to donating items for sale from the school community, Bedales students used their keen eye for fashion to select ensembles and model outfits as a preview of the sale. Bedales Block 3 (Year 9) art students helped the sale by designing the invitation to meet the Princess Royal. The School’s catering manager, Dave Greenman, was also present to welcome the Princess in recognition of the support he has given in loaning school crockery and cutlery to the branch over the years. Dave has worked at Bedales since the Princess Royal’s cousins, David Linley and Sarah Armstrong-Jones, attended the school in the 1980s.

Commenting on the launch event, Keith Budge said, “Providing support to good causes both locally and globally is an important part of the Bedales ethos. Helping charitable causes is mutually beneficial as our students learn important life skills in helping with fundraising and campaign initiatives. It is a pleasure to support the work of Save the Children locally and to be celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Big Sale.”
