Tripleblaze.com Announces the Top 10 Campgrounds in North Carolina

April 30, 2013 - PRLog -- Just ahead of the 2013 camping season, Tripleblaze.com has officially released a list of the top 10 campgrounds in the state of North Carolina, including three campgrounds that are also among the 10 most popular in the nation. The best campgrounds list is compiled using visitors' ratings and reviews that have been collected continuously since 2005.

Pisgah National Forest had the strongest showing on this year's list with six of the top 10 campgrounds located within the National Forest. Still, the list shows off the diversity of the camping experiences found in North Carolina with nods to campgrounds located in the piedmont and coastal regions as well.

"This list is really a showcase of the best places to go camping in the state of North Carolina," according to Tripleblaze founder Jeff Barber. "These are all places with great scenery, a variety of activities on site, and solid amenities for campers. Out of the 134 North Carolina campgrounds we're tracking, these are truly the cream of the crop."

Two of this year's top 10 campgrounds are privately owned while the rest are government-owned.

8.  Sky Island Retreat and Campground  (Old Fort, NC)
9.  Black Mountain Campground  (Burnsville, NC)
10.  Davidson River  (Brevard, NC)
