Four Non-Boat European Debuts for the Palma International Boat Show

PALMA DE MALLORCA, Spain - April 29, 2013 - PRLog -- Four companies are going to try their best to steal a slice of the limelight from the superyachts, sailing and motor boats at May’s Palma International Boat Show.  Hull cleaning tool Hulltimo Smart, marine electrical component ecommerce warehouse oc3an.com, personal water propulsion system WaveJet and a rare Mercedes 300SLR will all be making their European debuts.

First up, Hulltimo Smart, the French-manufactured ergonomically designed user-friendly hull cleaner.  A descendent of the original award-winning Hulltimo, designed as a contracting device requiring training and substantial investment by the user, the Hulltimo Smart is tailored to individual use.  Using the same proven technology as the Hulltimo, a mechanically-driven rotating brush head is attached to a lightweight telescopic handle powered by a neat backpack worn by the user.  The vacuum created by the rotational effect of the brush holds the cleaning head against the hull without the user having to apply physical pressure.  The critical fouling area around and below the water line is cleaned comfortably and effortlessly from the deck or dock.  Find Hulltimo Smart, selling for around 3,000 euros, on the Yacht Center Palma/Marine Superstore stand and see it demo’d at The Islander/Captain’s Lounge Media Centre.  

Next, oc3an.com, Spain’s first specialist ecommerce site for marine electrical equipment.  The brainchild of engineers working in the industry, oc3an.com has gathered together best-in-business products in one place, some of which will be represented at the Palma International Boat Show stand such as Yachtica onboard systems, Savage Lighting, Lumishore underwater lighting, Roxtec cable sealing solutions, cable manufacturers Sumcab, Asea power systems, Palladium Technologies and NRG: the world’s most compact fire extinguisher.  Visitors to the stand can chat to oc3an.com engineers, create trade accounts and, if they sign-up to the website, be entered into a draw to win a Parrot AR Drone 2.0 - the radio-controlled flying quadrotor helicopter.  The winner will be announced on Saturday 4 May at oc3an.com’s drinks soiree.  

Having made waves in the US, California-born WaveJet will be making its European debut on the Nauti-Parts stand.  Set to take the world of SUP and surf by storm, this lightweight, one-of-a-kind personal water propulsion system fits a range of watercraft and, operated by a wireless ‘Seatooth’ wrist controller, provides 20 pounds of thrust whilst leaving hands and feet free to ride the waves.  Providing speed and conserving energy, WaveJet allows surfers to spend more time riding, kayakers to have power boost beyond their paddles and SUPers to get up and running immediately and stretch the limits of their board’s capability.  And, perhaps most importantly, WaveJet gets lifeguards to their casualty in a fraction of the time - maybe the difference between life and death.  With a continuous run time of up to an hour and recharging via a standard socket, WaveJet will change the way people interact with water and is any yacht’s dream water toy.  Demonstrated live at the Palma International Boat Show.

Finally, taking advantage of a discerning captive audience, Rare Car Creations will be showcasing their ultra special Mercedes 300SLR.  Very rare – just one of two – this hand-built recreation of arguably the most famous, valuable and iconic racing car in the world, will be sure to turn heads away from even the most luxurious of superyachts.  Modelled on the 1955 Mille Miglia-winning '722' of Stirling Moss and Denis 'Jenks' Jenkinson, the skilfully crafted all aluminium body is absolutely correct, with dimensions taken from the original car.  Owner Martyn Dewhurst, and Nigel Forsyth, head of the design team that created this Mercedes 300SLR, will be presenting this beauty at Moll Vell superyacht quay.
