Follow on Google News | ScottMadden Releases Shared Services Trends Survey HighlightsBy: ScottMadden, Inc. In this survey, ScottMadden examined topics including: scope of functions, maturity levels, future plans, implementation challenges, and the improvement and expansion of shared services organizations (SSOs). The results reflected increasing maturity of shared services delivery models with a 38 percent increase in mature SSOs that had been operating for more than five years. The majority of participants were focused on either expanding or improving their SSO. Process automation, standardization, and the addition or expansion of an analytics function were cited as the top three improvement strategies for SSOs. Consistent with 2012, change management remained the biggest anticipated challenge for SSOs. Additional challenges anticipated for the coming year included governance design and management, business case creation/savings realization, and executive support.
