Fix, Nicoletti and Valencia Join Sklar Kirsh LLP

April 26, 2013 - PRLog -- LOS ANGELES -- Attorneys Blake Fix, Mark Nicoletti and Albert Valencia, with more than 30 years of collective experience at the nation’s premier law firms, have joined Sklar Kirsh LLP, announced partner Jeffrey A. Sklar.

The addition of Fix, Nicoletti and Valencia brings to 10 the number of attorneys at the Los Angeles-based corporate and real estate transactional law firm formed by Sklar and Andrew T. Kirsh in February 2013.

“We have assembled a first-class team of transactional attorneys with the talent and experience necessary to advise our sophisticated and entrepreneurial clients,” said Sklar.  

Fix joins Sklar Kirsh LLP as Senior Counsel in the firm’s Corporate Department where he focuses on general corporate law, strategic business and commercial contracts, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital, private equity and corporate finance and securities.  His experience covers a wide range of industries, including consumer products, manufacturing and logistics, food and beverage, apparel, business services, energy, sports, media and entertainment, technology and telecommunications. Fix has more than 10 years practicing as a corporate attorney at some of the top law firms in the country including the Chicago office of Jenner & Block and most recently the Santa Monica office of Bryan Cave, LLP.  Fix earned a BA from The University of Kansas and his JD and MBA from the University of Notre Dame.

Nicoletti joins Sklar Kirsh LLP as Of Counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Department with nearly 15 years of experience handling sophisticated transactional real estate and real estate finance matters. Nicoletti’s experience includes representing real estate funds, individual investors and developers, homebuilders, and institutional and non-institutional lenders, in all areas of transactional real estate and real estate finance, including: construction, permanent, securitized, mezzanine, and cross-border financing; the acquisition, disposition and development of vacant land, office buildings, apartment complexes, hotels, shopping centers, and other commercial, residential, and mixed use properties; the formation and representation of corporations, limited liability companies, limited partnerships, and other joint ventures; and representing commercial tenants and landlords in connection with office, retail, and other commercial leasing, ground leasing, and leasehold financing. Prior to joining Sklar Kirsh LLP, Nicoletti was a member of the Real Estate Practice Group in the Los Angeles office of Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, LLP, until 2009, when he began providing boutique transactional real estate and real estate finance services to a select group of investment banking clients and real estate hedge funds.  Nicoletti has a BS in Accounting, and received his JD from the University of Florida Levin College of Law, where he graduated second in his class, with high honors, and was inducted into the Order of the Coif.

Valencia joins Sklar Kirsh LLP as Of Counsel in the firm’s Real Estate Department.  Valencia specializes in real estate and general business matters, and has represented private equity investors, developers, operators and commercial banks in a broad range of real estate transactions, including acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, commercial leasing, financing, loan modifications, workouts and restructurings.  He also has significant experience providing real estate support for corporate finance and M&A transactions.  Valencia comes to Sklar Kirsh LLP after six years in the real estate departments of the Am Law 100 law firms Mayer Brown LLP and Proskauer Rose LLP.   Valencia received his BA from the University of California, Berkeley, and JD from UCLA School of Law where he was a member of the Moot Court Honors Program.
