Camden Sophisticated Sisters to appear on Dancing with the Stars

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Camden, NJ's own competitive youth drill team, the nonprofit organization devoted to inspiring and guiding Camden's young men, women and children to rise above the crime and violence of one of the nation's most dangerous cities, is scheduled to appear on ABC's Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday, April 30 at 8 pm *as AT&T's Spotlight Performance (*verification needed).

Viewers will be awed by the energy and precision of these young performers and inspired by their discipline, their dedication, and their story.

Enjoy this opportunity to support our young brothers and sisters as they showcase their talents on a global stage.

The Camden Sophisticated Sisters Drill team Inc. and The Almighty Percussion Sound Drum line was established November 12, 1986 at the Camden Youth Activity Center in Camden, N.J.  With members as young as 2 or 3 and as old as their 30's and 40's, the organization boasts a 100% high school graduation rate and a non-existent teen pregnancy and incarceration rate in an American city some see as failed, without hope, even a warzone.

Founder, Tawanda Jones, has been nominated for CNN's “Heroes” award, in honor of her mission to empower the people of her beleaguered native city by promoting discipline, education and community spirit (3/28/13).
