Mobily scooped two awards: ‘Broadband Operator of the Year’ and ‘Growth Story of the Year’, underpinning an impressive 2012-2013 for the operator. The “Growth Story of the Year Award” rewards telecom operators who expanded significantly in a market; while the Broadband Operator of the Year award is presented to telecom operators for investing in cutting edge broadband technologies and turning them into economically viable value propositions. Osman Sultan, CEO, Du was named Outstanding CEO of the Year for demonstrating innovation, growth and value creation, and continued efficiency and profitability for Du; while Karim Khoja, CEO of Afghan operator Roshan also won a special commendation in the Global Leadership Award category, for his dedication and loyalty to the country’s telecommunications sector in the face of unique challenges.
